yea I'd have to say rope was to long, move in closer to the boat.

It is also possibe that the wake was bigger on the other side ... hard to tell with this pic

#1 rope too long
#2 not enough weight in the rear
#3 too slow - 10.2-11 is what I ride at
#4 board too small for learning (I've got a 5 foot 6' LF Surfer you can borrow if I see you on the lake)

Oh, #5 - you're on the wrong side of the wake. You want your toes towards the wave

I rode behind the 230 yesterday. With an extra 1000lbs and the factory ballast full, at 10.3mph the wave was as tall as my chest. It was rediculous. It was so freaking huge that I got up sitting on the board and could throw the rope in sitting down! - not to mention ride the crap out of the wave normally.

I finally got to try wake surfing and immediately fell in love. I can't wait to do it again. Hush on #5, as a goofy footer I like it when they load the otherside of the boat.

Newer boats have exhaust systems that eliminate the carbon monoxide fume risk - supposedly. I'm not sure that I'd pay that ticket if I got it behind my boat.

Hey PJ, can you please email me. I am working with AWSA (American Wake Surf Association) in regards to informing differetn state agencies about the sport. There has been a rash of tickets issued to wakesurfers on the east coast lately. The CO levels at surfing distance should not be an issue.

Thanks

Brian

I just talked to a TWRA officer. He said wake surfing is NOT illegal. The only thing that you can get in trouble for is having people sit on the back of the boat while you're riding. HTX, pm me if you haven't paid the ticket. I'll see what I can do to help - I'm a civil attorney, but I'm interested to see if this ticket would hold up in criminal court.
